Spider Webb, aka Bob Schaefer

Between 1943 and 1946, Spider Webb (aka my Dad, Bob Schaefer) recorded 12 boogie woogie songs live to 78 disc somewhere in downtown Seattle. Some were just him solo on piano, others with a combo of Sam Anderson, Gil Cook and a guy named Dolan (know any of these guys? Email me!).

Recently I had these digitized (courtesy Will Myers of KEXP radio). I then cleaned them up using Cooledit, removing as many pops, clicks and hiss as I could.

These songs have not been played in over 20 years, and go back 60 years.

I scanned the labels of each 78; some were missing and I don't know the song title. If you know what songs "Unknown Blues 1" and "Unknown Blues 2" are, please contact me.

Click on a label to listen to each as an MP3. Enjoy Spider Boogie!
